The Association Un Destino de Colores was recognized by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Tourism of Colombia with the 2025 Diverse Tourism Merit Medal, one of the highest recognitions in the country’s tourism sector, which highlights initiatives that strengthen the development, innovation, and social impact of tourism in Colombia.
The recognition was presented during the 42nd National Meeting of Regional Tourism Authorities, a space that brought together sector leaders, authorities, business representatives, academia, and communities working to consolidate a more sustainable, competitive, and inclusive tourism industry in the country.
The Diverse Tourism Merit Medal is awarded to individuals, organizations, and initiatives that have made significant contributions to the development of the tourism industry, standing out for their leadership, innovation, social commitment, and contribution to positioning Colombia as a tourism destination.
For Un Destino de Colores, this recognition represents important support for the work the organization has been developing to promote diverse and inclusive tourism in Colombia, highlighting territories, businesses, and experiences that embrace diversity, respect, and inclusion as fundamental values of tourism.
From the Coffee Cultural Landscape region (Eje Cafetero), the organization has promoted training, certification, and collaboration processes with the public and private sectors, creating safe spaces and tourism experiences that integrate diverse communities, including the LGBTIQ+ population, people with disabilities, women, older adults, and other population groups.
This achievement reaffirms the commitment of Un Destino de Colores to building a tourism model that not only generates economic development but also promotes equality, respect, and social transformation in the territories.
